DHANYA + ROHAN
BENGALURU
DATE
Dec 29 & 30, 2016
VENUE
Manipal County, Bengaluru
These two lovebirds, Dhanya and Rohan have known each other for many years. They are both from Kerala, Dhanya is Hindu and Rohan is Christian and they wanted to celebrate their coming together doing both ceremonies.
They wanted the Hindu ceremony to be traditional and outdoors on the lawns of the venue and their reception near the swimming pool.
For the traditional Malayalee Hindu ceremony we decided to go with the orange and yellow colours of the marigold. The background was a chequered frame with handmade paper flower balls. The stage was arranged according to tradition with brass lamps and plates. The colour theme ran through the space with clay uralis placed at the base of stage filled with marigold petals, the lawn being was covered overhead with a canopy of drapes to keep the winter sun out, the bridesmaids carrying brass plates with clay lamps on a bed of marigold petals and blouses to match and the trees surrounding the lawn being adorned with string of the marigold.
For their reception since the couple share such a zest for life we came up with the concept Love.Dance.Celebrate. with the theme colours as pink and orange. The couple themed their invites around this concept and we lit up the swimming pool with lighting to create these three words. The couple dance their way into the reception down an aisle created by their guests waving pink and orange wedding ringers handmade by us to bring in the Newlyweds and shower them with love and luck. We created a large gold wooden frame hung in front of a backdrop of pink and orange ribbon and fairy lights to pose as a photo booth with funky and fun props. A tree near the bar and swimming pool had pictures of the couple with their family and friends through the years and was decorated with fairy lights.
The guestbook was a canvas with an outline of a tree on which the guests left the couple little messages for them to cherish for years to come and in return the guests were given seeds to plant and let the love grow.
This wedding was the epitome of their core theme Love. Dance. Celebrate.
CURATED BY AMANATI
While conceptualising the look and feel of the wedding we handmade orange and yellow paper flowers for the flower balls, did a DIY with the wedding ringers, procured all the brass items and ceremonial items, and constructed the wire outlines for the Love.Dance.Celebrate lighting element, sourced the seeds and bags for the return gifts and designed the canvas for the guestbook and the wooden photo frame. We also handled accommodation and transportation for all the family members to and from the venue, hired the nadaswaram and coordinated all the catering requirements.
